Patricio Canete-Schreger was born near Vienna in 1976 as the son of political refugees from Chile. In addition to his (unfinished) law studies, he founded music event series, a living room club, curated district festivals and worked as a DJ for subcultural music forms. From 2009-2014 he worked as Development Manager at Klangforum Wien. From here he moved to the advisory staff of the City Councilor for Culture Dr. Andreas Mailath-Pokorny, where he was responsible for music, among other things, until 2016. After moving to the Europe Office of the Vienna City School Board, he began working in the Cultural Department of the City of Vienna in 2018, where he has been head of the Music Department since then. Since 2022 he has also been deputy head of the Vienna Cultural Department.
