Kim Nguyen is a member of the N8W8, Rotterdam’s independent night council, where she bridges nightlife and urban planning, working on urban redevelopment and new creative spaces to make nightscapes more inclusive and vibrant. Passionate about revitalizing forgotten urban spaces, Kim holds a Master of Science degree in Urbanism, with a thesis on “Urban Design Interventions for Creative Nightscapes in Rotterdam”.
Better known as Kimmah, she is a resident DJ at POING Club, Operator Radio, and Pinkman Records, known for her blend of underground electronic and contemporary Asian music. As the founder of Scattered Waves, a platform for promoting East and Southeast Asian electronic music, she has made a significant mark in the global music scene.
Kim is not only a driving force in underground electronic music but also an advocator for creating safer, more inclusive nightlife spaces. She introduced the Safety Rider to improve safety on the dancefloor for nighttime workers and co-authored door policies in Europe and Asia to promote safer clubbing for visitors.
