As a performer, dance facilitator, social and cultural anthropologist, ongoing ethnomusicologist and music and dance lover Katrin Blantar is passionate about highlighting the social & cultural aspects of music and dance. Katrin’s focus is on the empowering, and political aspects of freestyle based dance forms that are stemming from a specific context of oppression and social injustices. She is fascinated by the power and attraction that “Street-Dance & Club-Dance Forms” have on so many people all around the world and she likes to look at and question the power dynamics at play. Katrin Blantar likes to be engaged in collective performances, discursive practices , interdisciplinary and reflective project work, playing games, laughing hard and listening to music and dancing in underground clubs.
