Wien, Austria
Farah Deen is a versatile freelance dancer, choreographer, curator and dance teacher based in Vienna, specializing in House Dance. As the founder of the Potpourri Dance company and the international Streetdance Festival "Flavourama" in Salzburg, she has played a pivotal role in shaping the European dance battle landscape over the past 16 years. Next to curating dancers, DJs, panelists, teachers etc. for her own festival, Deen has been also co-curating „Public Moves Salzburg“ for ImPulsTanz Festival Vienna. As a performer and choreographer she has been showcasing her own artform on stages across Europe, the US, South Africa and Southeast Asia, performing at dance theatre festivals, international battles or local community events. She loves to share her love for dance and music with her students all across the globe and is very eager to create a worldwide network of dance lovers. Her artistic collaborations encompass a wide range of styles and genres, reflecting her belief in not limiting herself artistically or as a dancer. Whether within the House and Hip Hop Community or the Contemporary Dance scene, she continually embraces new forms of expression, showcasing her adaptability and innovative spirit. Currently, Deen is immersing herself in the traditional dances of Sri Lanka, her ancestral home, to enrich her artistic journey.
