Maria Danilina, known in the DJ world as Mareia, has been a driving force in Vienna’s club culture for over a decade. As a DJ, cultural worker, sound designer, and musicologist, her contributions span from the decks to deeper community initiatives. Her involvement with "heimlich"—a nonprofit collective committed to promoting electronic subcultures—has been instrumental in organizing club events, open-air festivals, and music initiatives in Vienna and beyond for the past 8 years.

In addition to her work with "heimlich", Maria founded "Nachtigall", a podcast that vividly captures the pulse of Vienna’s urban club scene. The podcast earned widespread recognition, winning an independent scene award Preis der freien Szene für Clubkultur two years ago. Politically active, Maria is also a member of "Kultur for President", an initiative that amplifies political voices within the club community, advocating for the integration of culture and politics.

Maria’s commitment to empowering marginalized communities is further reflected in her work with the feminist project "Donna Decks" and through her independent mentorship of FLINTA* individuals, nurturing their growth in DJing and musicianship. Most recently, she took on the management of "Drahthaus", an electronic live band based in Vienna, extending her influence within the city’s vibrant electronic music and club culture.
