Johannes Piller is a central figure in Viennese club culture and has made a name for himself through his diverse activities as a DJ, organizer, editor and label founder. His career began in the Viennese cultural scene, where he gained valuable experience as Head of Booking and Managing Director at the renowned club Grelle Forelle and later at Das Werk. There he was instrumental in the programming and organization of events that shaped the local electronic music scene. Piller was also involved in journalism and worked for the Austrian culture magazine The Gap, where he reported on trends and developments in the music scene.
Particularly noteworthy is his founding of the trade union group DECK, an interest group for DJs and electronic musicians, which campaigns for fair pay and working conditions for this group. In this role, he organized workshops and events and worked on a voluntary basis to improve conditions.
At the same time, he founded the community radio station vlan.radio, which gives local artists a stage and reflects the diversity of the Viennese music scene. With the founding of his label A.T.C. Records, he created another platform specializing in the release and promotion of electronic music. Through these diverse initiatives, Johannes Piller has made a significant contribution to Viennese club culture and the promotion of the local scene.
