Alexander Bücheli war zwischen 2001–2015 zuständig für das städtische Nightlife-Präventionsangebot saferparty.ch. Im Rahmen dieser Tätigkeit war Alexander Bücheli massgeblich am Aufbau des mobilen Drug Checkings und der Entwicklung des Drogeninformationszentrums DIZ beteiligt. Er ist Mitbegründer des Vereins Safer Clubbing Schweiz und der Bar & Club Kommission Zürich. Seit 2015 ist er als freischaffender Berater für die Netzwerke Safer Dance Swiss, Safer Nightlife Schweiz und Safer Clubbing Schweiz sowie als Lobbyist für die Bar & Club Kommission Zürich, Schweizer Bar- und Clubkommission und PromoterSuisse tätig. Alexander Bücheli ist zudem mit Kurator der NIGHTS – Stadt nach Acht Konferenz und der Zurich Music Week (ZMW), Vorstandsmitglied des Europäischen Nightlife Empowerment & Well-being – NewNet Netzwerkes, Initiator der IG Zürcher Gastfreundschaft und war beteiligt an der Stuttgarter 2023 durchgeführten Nachtökonomie Studie.

Alexander Bücheli was responsible for the city's nightlife prevention program saferparty.ch from 2001 to 2015. During this time, he played a key role in establishing mobile drug checking and developing the Drug Information Center (DIZ). He is a co-founder of the Safer Clubbing Switzerland association and the Bar & Club Commission Zurich. Since 2015, he has worked as a freelance consultant for the Safer Dance Swiss, Safer Nightlife Switzerland, and Safer Clubbing Switzerland networks, as well as a lobbyist for the Bar & Club Commission Zurich, the Swiss Bar and Club Commission, and PromoterSuisse. Additionally, Alexander Bücheli co-curates the NIGHTS – Stadt nach Acht conference and Zurich Music Week (ZMW), serves on the board of the European Nightlife Empowerment & Well-being – NewNet network, initiated the IG Zürcher Gastfreundschaft, and contributed to the 2023 Night Economy Study conducted in Stuttgart.
